The Council opened today the registration period for the XII edition of the Rosales popular race, which will take place on Sunday, June 1st and this year, as the main novelty, will partially change the route in the absolute category, with more distance through the streets of the neighborhood and in the opposite direction compared to last year’s edition.
The race will be almost six kilometers long and will start at 10:00 a.m. on Fernando Suárez García avenue, next to the municipal sports pavilion of Rosales. The first section will take participants through the Rosales promenade and then through Manuel Azaña and Simón Bolívar streets, circumnavigating the Elliptical Square and then heading towards the Portiño road, where a significant part of the race will take place.
The finish line will be right next to the municipal sports pavilion of Rosales, coming from O Portiño. This is another highlight of this edition, as by going in the opposite direction compared to the 2024 race, it smoothens the final stretch – last year, the finish line was uphill from the waterfront, arriving from Percebeiras, with the Millennium slope – and responds to one of the main suggestions from the participating public.
The Sports Councilor, Manuel Vázquez, encouraged the citizens to participate in this new Coruña Corre event, which is already halfway through this season. As usual, the circuit will resume after the summer season, and it will be in mid-September when the second part of the 2025 program will begin, including the Volta a Oza and popular races in the Ventorrillo and Novo Mesoiro neighborhoods.
«There are more than 2,100 people registered in the entire circuit, and we are experiencing exciting races with a lot of family audience, with parents, mothers, and children participating in the events. That is precisely what we aim for: to create a sense of belonging and to show that Coruña Corre is not just about sports, but also contributes to promoting values such as inclusion and healthy habits,» explained Vázquez.
Registration deadline open until next Sunday, May 25
Those interested in formalizing their registration for the popular Rosales race can do so until 11:59 p.m. on the next Sunday, May 25.
In the following days, the Council will notify, through its official channels, all information related to the collection of bibs (locations and schedules), the assistance services that will be available on race day, and also the expected mobility incidents on June 1st.
