
Galicia experienced a Saturday of high temperatures that sent the thermometers above 35 degrees in many areas of the community, especially in the province of Ourense, where the highest temperatures of the day were recorded.
The hottest point of this day, according to the values collected by MeteoGalicia, was Leiro (Ourense), where the thermometers reached 41.6 degrees at 5:50 p.m.
There were several points in the province of Ourense where the thermometers rose above 40 degrees and in the province of Lugo, they touched them.
Thus, the city of Ourense reached 41.5 degrees at 6:20 p.m.; in Arnoia, at 5:00 p.m., the mercury rose to 41.4 degrees; and Ribas de Sil (Lugo) recorded 39.4 degrees.
All this on a day when the Xunta has been maintaining level 1 alert since Friday in various parts of Galicia due to high temperatures.
The highest values will be recorded between this Saturday and Monday when the heat situation will be more widespread. However, only points in the north of A Coruña and Lugo remain outside this heatwave.
SUNDAY’S JOURNEY
For this Sunday, the Community will continue under anticyclonic influence, but coastal fog is expected on the coast and fog banks in inland areas, which will dissipate as the day progresses.
In the afternoon, the sky will be generally clear, and temperatures will not undergo significant changes.
In this context, MeteoGalicia warns that the heat will persist in the south of Lugo, Valdeorras, Miño de Pontevedra, South of Ourense, and Miño in Pontevedra.
