The Coruña City Council has launched the municipal campaign for the 2025 Summer Camps, an initiative aimed at offering a wide, diverse, and inclusive educational leisure program for children and youth in the city during the summer months.
The campaign will run from June 23 to September 9, covering the entire school vacation period with over 11 weeks of continuous activities. This wide range of camps aims to facilitate the work-life balance of Coruña families during the summer while providing safe spaces for children to learn, socialize, and have fun.
A total of 6,116 spots are available for children and teenagers in the city, distributed across eight camp categories. There will be urban day camps with recreational, sports, and educational activities within the city, as well as camps with overnight stays outside the city. The activities will take place at nearly 40 municipal venues and facilities – community centers, schools, sports centers, among other spaces – and will include the use of the Manzaneda Mountain Station (Ourense) for the overnight camp category as a new feature.
The camps cover a wide range of themes, from promoting healthy lifestyles and responsible consumption to sports and physical activity, nature exploration and environmental care, artistic and cultural creativity, and even discovering other cultures and local history. Additionally, all camps promote values such as coexistence, equality, inclusion, and emotional development in a cross-cutting manner. To ensure inclusive participation, the campaign reserves spots for children with special educational needs, who will have support monitors to attend to their specific requirements. The activities are designed for children aged 4 to 17, so girls and boys born between 2008 and 2021 can participate.
The Mayor of Coruña, Inés Rey, highlighted that «this summer camp program reflects our strong commitment to reconciliation and inclusion. We want to offer families resources that allow them to reconcile during school vacations while ensuring the participation of all children, regardless of their needs, in a summer of quality learning and leisure.»
Rey pointed out that the organization of summer camps is the result of joint work between the City Council’s departments of Social Welfare, Participation and Equality, Education, Sports, Culture, the Municipal Consumer Information Office, and the Municipal Institute Coruña Espectáculos.

The Council’s commitment to reconciliation every day of the year
The Coruña City Council maintains a permanent commitment to reconciling the work, family, and personal lives of Coruña families throughout the year. Among the stable services highlighted are:
- Municipal playrooms in community centers, with socio-educational activities that promote reconciliation.
- Municipal babysitting program, which provides childcare both at home and in municipal spaces, during morning, afternoon, and weekend hours tailored to the specific needs of families.
- Specific programs during non-school periods, such as the Play Corner during Easter and the urban camps during Christmas, which provide educational and leisure alternatives during school breaks.
This network of resources, reinforced in the summer with the now-presented municipal camps, ensures that all families have flexible and inclusive alternatives that facilitate reconciliation throughout the twelve months of the year.
