The most affected provinces have been A Coruña and Pontevedra
The storm left more than a hundred incidents in Galicia on Saturday, although none were serious, according to the 112.
According to data collected by the emergency service, a total of 128 weather-related incidents were managed throughout the day.
The most affected provinces were A Coruña, with 49 incidents recorded, and Pontevedra, with 48. They were followed by Lugo, with 19, and Ourense, with 12.
Most of the alerts were related to the effects of the wind on the roads, especially due to fallen trees and branches (61 interventions), as well as the presence of cables, banners, signs, traffic signals, or displaced or fallen light posts (19).
A dozen preventive actions were also carried out by emergency teams to avoid major risks.
Among the actions, those related to snow and ice on the roads stand out, where 112 Galicia recorded a total of 11 cases: one in Pontevedra province, six in Lugo, and four in Ourense.
Among them, two calls were received from Cereixedo, in Cervantes (Lugo), around 5:15 pm and 6:00 pm, requesting help for several vehicles trapped in the snow.
One of the most notable incidents of the day occurred in Mugardos (A Coruña), specifically on Avenida Seixo, in the parish of Franza.
Five minutes before 2:00 pm, an individual alerted the 112 about a flooded garage, which ended up causing a gas pipe rupture.
The service requested the intervention of the Local Police, GES Mugardos, and the Ferrol Firefighters.
The situation forced the traffic to be cut in the area and the residents of the building in front of the affected house were confined, while the residents of the directly affected building were evacuated preventively.
Once the incident was resolved, the individuals were able to return to their homes and traffic was restored to normal.
MARKING AN INDUSTRIAL WAREHOUSE IN RIBEIRA
On the other hand, firefighters from the Ribeira provincial park had to mark an industrial warehouse in Couso-Aguiño. They received a notice to remove metal sheets from the roof of the building, but the weather conditions prevented the use of the automatic ladder, so the firefighters opted to mark the perimeter and entrance to the warehouse.
SECURING THE ROOF OF A BUILDING IN ARTEIXO
In addition, firefighters from the Arteixo provincial park had to
secure the roof of a building on Carmen Conde Street in Arteixo.
They received the notice from 112 and the Local Police of Arteixo due to the risk of elements falling from the roof, and after analyzing the situation, they secured the loose plates from the cherry picker vehicle.
